Procedures of Application & Enrollment
1.Application
All applicants who would like to pursue their studies in our university will hand in application reports directly to International Exchange & Cooperation Department of Northwest Minorities University.
2.Background materials to be offered
2.1 Language student and graduate student
A. Application form for foreign students to study in China
B. Certificate of terminal degree
C. Certificate of expenses guarantee to be issued by banks
2.2 Elementary-level, advanced-level and postgraduate students
A. Application form for foreign students to study in China
B. Certificate of terminal degree and school reports (notarized copies)
C. School reports of HSK Band 6 or above (copies) (Once the application is approved, no copies are required)
D. Certificate of expenses guarantee to be issued by banks
E. Recommendations by two associate professors or scholars of equivalent occupation
F. To provide 6 photos of specialized design works completed by the applicants themselves if they are involved in the application of master’s and graduate studies in the academy of fine arts.
2.3 Undergraduate student
A. Application form for foreign students to study in China
B. Certificate of terminal degree and school reports (notarized copies)
C. School reports of HSK Band 6 or above (copies)
D. Certificate of expenses guarantee to be issued by banks
E.. To provide 6 photos of art works (2 for sketch, color and specialized design works separately) completed by the applicants themselves if they are involved in the application of master’s and graduate studies in the academy of fine arts.
NB: All certificates if not in Chinese and English require to be notarized in Chinese or English version.
3. Time of Application
Language student:
supposed to submit their application form before the first day and
before the day of 15, June of the year if they want to participate in the Spring
and Autumn studies respectively
Undergraduate student:
between 1, March and 30, May of each year
Graduate, postgraduate and doctoral students:
from 1, Nov to 31, Jan. the following year
4. Enrollment
4.1 All applicants can ask the Department of International Exchanges and Cooperation of NWMU for “Application Form For Foreign Students To Study In China” And “Physical Examination Form For Foreigners” by downloading from our website: www.xbmu.edu.cn.. Please post the filled forms, along with other required materials to our department.
(NB: No physical examination form is required of any applicant whose study in our university is within the period 6 months.);
4.2 After check-up and approval of the materials, we will post to the acceptance students “Admission Notice” and “JW202 Form” (Visa Application of Visiting China for Foreign Overseas Students”) one month and half before matriculation;
4.3 The acceptance student can apply for study visa in Chinese embassy or consulate to his/her country by submitting the above “Admission Notice” and “JW202 Form”. (NB: Application for X Visa is required of any applicant whose study time in China is over 6 months);
4.4 The acceptance student is requested to register in our department in due time as above-scheduled by presenting his/her visa, “Admission Notice”, “JW202 Form”, and “Physical Examination Form For Foreigners” (original).
